What does the course offer?
Back to Life are a registered course centre with Resuscitation Council UK, and a provider of RC(UK) certified e-ILS courses.
The e-ILS course trains individuals in the skills of initial assessment of the sick patient and provides knowledge and education in the causes and prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest.
Unlike the 8 hour ILS course, which must be completed in a single day, the e-ILS allows candidates to participate in half a day of online learning before attending a half-day of practical assessment; allowing for the same high level of learning and practical with a shorter face-to-face time requirement.
The online element of the course is provided by the Resuscitation Council (UK) via self-enrolment on the course. We will assist you with this when you have booked your e-ILS course. Upon completion you will receive an "e-learning certificate" that must be brought with you to the practical day as evidence of having completed the online course.
Both components combine to provide training in basic life support skills including defibrillation and basic airway adjuncts, which can be used to help save lives prior to the arrival of the ambulance/cardiac arrest team. Delegates will also be given training in participating as a member of a cardiac arrest team.
Course content is in accordance with the current UK Resuscitation guidelines. Candidates will receive a login to the RC(UK) e-Learning portal, where they will be required to complete an online syllabus and pre-course multiple choice quiz. Substantive manuals are also provided pre course to enable candidates to develop core knowledge in addition to their online learning.
Delegates who successfully complete the course will be given a Resuscitation Council UK ILS certificate valid for 1 year, as well as 5CME points / 5 hours of verifiable CPD.
